A Woodland Wedding at Hawthorn Grove Filled with Homegrown Flowers and Heartfelt Details 🌸

About
There’s something truly magical about a woodland wedding — that mix of nature, light, and love that makes everything feel effortlessly beautiful. Recently, I had the joy of photographing a stunning woodland wedding at Hawthorn Grove, and it honestly couldn’t have been more perfect. Every corner of the day was filled with personal touches, handmade details, and the kind of love that you can feel in every photo.

A Celebration Made by Family and Friends
What made this Hawthorn Grove wedding so special was how much heart went into it. The couple, with the help of their family and friends, created everything themselves. From the handmade wooden arch and hanging lanterns to the wildflower-filled jars lining the tables, it was all a true labour of love.
Friends gathered the day before to help set up the space, decorating the woodland with fairy lights, candles, and rustic details. As the sun began to set, the clearing was glowing — a dreamy, magical setting surrounded by trees and laughter.

Flowers Grown in the Bride’s Mum’s Garden 🌼

One of my favourite details of the day was the flowers. Every single bloom — from the bride’s bouquet to the table arrangements — had been grown in the bride’s mum’s garden. For months, she had been tending to her plants, carefully nurturing wildflowers, dahlias, and roses so they’d be ready for the big day.
Capturing the Woodland Magic
As a woodland wedding photographer, days like this are a dream. The natural light at Hawthorn Grove filtered perfectly through the trees, casting a golden glow on every moment. I loved capturing the couple walking down the woodland aisle surrounded by family and friends — all smiling, all completely in the moment.

Why I Love Woodland Weddings
There’s something incredibly grounding about getting married in nature. Woodland weddings have this calm, intimate atmosphere that’s hard to replicate anywhere else — especially when the space is filled with things made by hand and grown with love.
The Ceremony in the Woods
The ceremony was surrounded by tall trees, with sunlight filtering through the leaves. Guests sat on wooden chairs, the aisle lined with petals and greenery. It was peaceful — just birdsong, soft guitar music, and the rustling of trees.
The couple’s vows were personal and heartfelt, and as they said “I do,” the whole forest seemed to hold its breath. It was one of those quiet, powerful moments that reminds you why outdoor weddings are so special — nature becomes part of the story.

If you’re planning your own woodland wedding at Hawthorn Grove, or dreaming of a celebration surrounded by trees, fairy lights, and the warmth of a firepit, I’d love to help you capture it. 🌿
There’s nothing quite like photographing a wedding that’s been made by hand and grown from the heart — it’s what I love most about being a natural wedding photographer.
